Virgin Mobile is one of Sprint’s prepaid brands in addition to Assurance Wireless, Boost Mobile, and Common Cents Mobile. As of March 2010, Sprint prepaid group has more than 11 million customers.


They are a part of the Virgin Group, which is a larger collection of companies operating around the world involved in everything from airplanes to soft drinks and music. Virgin Mobile Canada proudly boasts that they have won the J. D. Powers & Associates "Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Prepaid Wireless Service” for two years in a row.

Virgin Mobile Canada officially launched its first smartphones and data plans, piggybacking on the high-tech network built by Bell and Telus and completed late in 2009.

Virgin Mobile is transforming itself from being predominantly a pre-paid player to a company that is truly taking on the contract and monthly plan market, said Robert Blumenthal, president of Virgin Mobile Canada.

Handsets and airtime are sold through the company's website and various retail outlets.
